Jason Rothermund is an entrepreneur, business executive, strategic advisor, and retired law enforcement leader whose career spans more than two decades of public service, organizational leadership, government affairs, and private-sector business development.
As Founder and Managing Principal of Bravo Dog Ventures, LLC, Jason leads a portfolio of businesses focused on technology, financial services, business development, and strategic consulting. Combining his experience in law enforcement leadership, legislative advocacy, corporate operations, and entrepreneurship, Jason brings a multidisciplinary perspective to solving complex challenges, developing organizations, and building strategic relationships.
More Than Two Decades of Public Safety Experience
Jason began his public safety career in 2004 as a Corrections Officer with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government's Division of Community Corrections before joining the Lexington Police Department in March 2005.
Throughout his distinguished law enforcement career, Jason served in a variety of operational, investigative, and leadership assignments, including patrol operations, property crimes investigations, auto theft investigations, and the Robbery/Homicide Unit.
Following his promotion to Sergeant, he served in the department's Bureau of Special Operations, including the CLEAR Unit, a specialized street-level crime suppression unit, before ultimately serving as Canine Unit Commander.
As a certified dual-purpose Patrol and Explosive Detection Canine Handler, Jason participated in numerous tactical deployments and specialized law enforcement operations.

He served two terms as President of the Fraternal Order of Police Bluegrass Lodge No. 4, representing law enforcement professionals and working with municipal and state government officials on matters affecting public safety.
During his tenure, Jason served as chief negotiator for the police collective bargaining agreement and chaired the organization's legislative committee.
His government affairs experience includes advocating for legislation addressing organized criminal activity, officer safety, criminal justice policy, and benefits for the families of fallen first responders.

Joined the financial technology company as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing company operations and participating in strategic growth initiatives, including engagements with private equity and venture capital firms during the company's investment activities.
His experience in financial technology, payment processing, organizational development, and business operations subsequently expanded into consulting engagements with emerging and scaling businesses.
